This looks to be a pretty old sterling silver brooch. It is marked SILVER and made in Mexico but it has a very old type clasp which makes it pretty antique probably. There are no makers marks on it so I assume it is another Taxco piece. The total weight is 18.5g. I don't believe the stone in the center is black onyx because there is a brownish gold reflection when looked at with magnification. From a normal view it looks black. We tested it on our Presidium 2 tester and it is registering as glass so it may be just that. It measures approximately 2" x 2.5". It is in pretty good vintage condition but does have some scratches, dings, and some discoloration on it and it could definitely use a good cleaning. (Bin#MS3)
