Rolex Ref 5505 “bubble back” Case from 1958 with (CORRECTION 18K) gold bezel and original gold crown. Scratching and pitting probably typical for the age of the piece, as case is from the 1950s. It looks like it’s been polished, but not in a long, long time.
The crystal is pre-high dome era so very cool superdome that makes the watch look and feel much larger than 35mm.
Comes with an original - I believe retouched dial , the back is completely clean - as well as the original radium hour and minute hands, black second hand as well. Good project for anyone who enjoys restoring old, rare Rolex watches.
Uses a Caliber 1030 movement
