Cast metal frame from late 19th century or early 20th century. It appears this frame perhaps could have been a part of a piece of furniture at some point. However, all fittings from the back of the frame have been removed. It would look lovely on its own placed on your mantle piece or as wall décor, or it also could be made into a picture frame or encase a mirror.
The frame measures about 12” in diameter and 2 ¼” in width. It is fully oxidized /blackened all over the surface. Per seller it could have been silver plated at some point, but I have not discovered any evidence of that. Not sure what type of metal this is (the frame is quite heavy for its size), but nonetheless, this is an exceptionally beautiful piece.
