My father collected fountain pens and inkwells. This is just one piece from his extensive collection.
A 19th century brass decorated Islamic Ottoman Persian Qalamdan.
The Qalamdan is in solid brass, decorated on the ends and on the inkwell.
It consists of an inkwell and a pen compartment of typical tubular form with an interior cavity to store a reed pen.
Attached to the body is an inkwell with engraved Moorish designs.
The piece measures 8.75" inches long x 1.75" inches high x 2" inches deep.
Great decorative antique inkwell art object.
