I recently bought a flat of these 1962 Carnival Chalk Figures from the original owner and each was created for and presented first at the at the 1962 Minnesota State Fair, then the 1962 Wisconsin State Fair, according to him!! These are all large, between 7" to 10" tall and do have some weight to them! This piece is a KITTY CAT sitting with Paws up and is a Bank!!
On the bottom of one of the pieces (the Cocker Spaniel) it was carved in "STATE FAIR 1962".
There, of course, is some wear and tear on this over 60 year old piece of American History, but it's still pretty solid overall!
For Carnival Chalk Collector's or Dog or Cat Collector's, it doesn't get any better than this piece...and we can somewhat trace their history!
Honestly, the pictures don't do this piece justice...it would be the centerpiece of any collection!
