14k Gold Large Vintage Hand Carved Shell Cameo Brooch /Pendant Italy
This is a lovely, deeply carved, shell cameo of a woman's profile in a soft cream color with a light brown background set high in a 14k solid yellow gold frame with finely toothed setting and twisted wire effect on the outer edge. The side of the brooch is marked with “14k” and “*445 NA” which is Italian maker’s mark.
The image and quality of the carving are beautiful and the oval pin / pendant for necklace (combination piece) is very eye-catching. It is 1.5” (37mm) high and 1.15” (29mm) and weighs 6 grams. It has a bail at the top that allows it to be also worn as a pendant.
