The "Beauties Of The Red Mansion" is a 12-plate collectible series created by Master Artisan Zhao Huimin, produced by Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain in China. The Bradford Exchange sold this limited edition set from 1985 to 1989.
This plate series portrays the heroines from the classic Chinese romantic novel "A Dream of Red Mansions" (also known as "Dream of the Red Chamber") by Hung Lou Meng, written between 1755 and 1790. The book features a large cast of characters, with 12 central beauties depicted on each plate.
The 12 Plates Feature:
Pao-chai, Yuan-chun, Hsi-feng, Hsi-chun, Miao-yu, Ying-chun, Tai-yu, Li-wan, Ko-ching, Hsiang-yun, Tan-chun, and Chiao-chieh.
Physical Details:
Each plate measures approximately 8.5 in. in diameter,
were limited to 115 firing days each production year.
Each comes with original box, certificate of authenticity, color brochure, and inspection card.
11 plates have Never been out of the box. The first plate was opened and the paperwork was misplaced.
